I really liked reading your list Grace. Your stories covered a wide range of issues that affect a lot of people. I think the most interesting one you talked about was the issue of Islamophobia in the US and at colleges like UF. Hopefully, we can figure out a solution to this problem soon. Feel free to check out some of the opportunities I found here: http://matthewent3003.blogspot.com/2016/01/identifying-local-opportunities.html.
ReplyDeleteGrace,
ReplyDeleteThank you for including the hot topic of Islamophobia in your post. It is truly upsetting that a high percentage of our population chooses to alienate themselves from a specific ethnic group; this is purely un-American. I also appreciate your efforts in changing people's general misconceptions of those who are mentally ill. I actually have a good friend who was born with down-syndrome, his name is Franco. He's a kind-hearted guy, with a great sense of humor! He's originally from Argentina and loves tennis, two things we have in common. It would be incredible if more people saw Franco, and others like him, for who he really is and not what he appears.
